Couples Communication

Miscommunication can be one of the most frustrating aspects of any relationship. The goal of any argument should be to resolve conflicts in a mutually satisfying way. In couples counseling, key elements include seeking understanding before reaching an agreement, becoming more effective speakers and listeners, and identifying individual communication styles. This counseling series is part of premarital counseling and is also beneficial for any couple looking to enhance their communication skills.

ADHD Management

To provide the best outcomes in psychotherapy for children with Attention Deficit and Attention Hyperactivity, here is what you can expect. Counseling for your child is expected to be six to eight visits. These can be scheduled weekly or 2(times) per week. Parents may also be asked to participate in the counseling sessions with their child. In addition to counseling sessions, parent coaching will be offered. Parent coaching sessions can be in-person or through Telehealth. These parent coaching sessions are scheduled to offer parents emotional and behavioral support. Discussions may include modifying behavior plans, concerns with your child’s teachers and peers, educational topics of IEP and 504 plans and ways to give positive support to your child. These parent coaching sessions will be in tandem with counseling. Keep in mind, your child will not be included in the parent coaching sessions.

Emotional Regulation2.png

Emotional Regulation

Healthy emotional regulation reduces intense emotions, impulsiveness, and stress and pain within the mind and body. Psychotherapy plays a key role in this process, as it helps individuals achieve balance between emotions and rational thought. Through counseling, clients can enhance their rational reasoning skills with self-reflection processing guided by their therapist to reach personal goals.

Self-Care.png

Self-Care

Psychotherapy for self-care emphasizes the importance of incorporating intentional activities into your daily routine to maintain good health and enhance overall well-being. Self-care encompasses psychological, physical, professional, social, and spiritual dimensions. Counseling aimed at improving self-care practices can be achieved through behavioral coaching and therapeutic support. By establishing a self-care routine, you can expect to feel more replenished, and those around you—your spouse, children, friends, and coworkers—will notice your increased presence and consistency.

Ways to pay for counseling services

  • Insurance for in-network care: Your insurance pays for at least part or all of your therapy if you see an in-network provider. Depending on the type insurance you have, your plan might cover the full cost of care or require you to chip in. Check your plan’s summary of benefits, which should explain your cost sharing.

  • Insurance for out-of-network care: Your insurance covers an agreed-upon amount (usually a percentage of the therapist’s fee) when you see an out-of-network provider.

  • Out of pocket: If you see a therapist who’s out-of-network, and your insurance plan doesn’t offer out-of-network coverage, you’ll pay for care out of pocket. (You’ll also have to pay out of pocket if a therapist doesn’t take insurance.) A therapist might charge you their full rate, or they may offer a sliding scale rate based on your income. You can also pay with funds with your pre-tax healthcare account, by FSA or HSA.
